TIME AND TIDE WAIT FOR NO ONE

CAVE 2 - WHEN WATER KILLS

The riverbanks eroding, leaving no homes, schools, grazing, crops, or even a place to bury the dead. An 11-year-old girl told her mother, "I need to go to school, take that exam, and do well so we can have a better future." Two hours later, her lifeless body was discovered, swept away by a sudden river flood.

Everything submerged in water. Water, which elsewhere brings life, here brings only death and devastation. People wade through the flood, carrying their few possessions.

After dysentery and cholera, the threat of famine looms, with lost crops, seeds, and hard work. Parents are anxious about how to feed their children tonight. Can we start anew? Can we relocate and become climate refugees?
